My fiancee's '99 Accord EX Coupe 4-cylinder automatic, with 130,000+ miles, has recently (in. ġ999 Accord, 130k+, stalls when slowing to a stop - Honda Accord. The car runs good but stalls every time i come to a stop. I'm taking the car back to the dealership today. I notice if i keep the tank around a half of tank of gas it does fine but if it gets 1/4 or less is when I have the problem and worse when I fill it up and I don't overfill the car either. I have had it back 3 weeks and it wouldn't hardly crank the last two mornings. They changed everything out from the canister to the fuel tank. I have had it back to the dealership 3 times for the same problem. Any suggestions? I was told this morning if it continued to bring it back to the dealership. Today, it died on me while it was still in park. There was also an air filter laying in the bottom where you would think it went anyway. The air filter is located on the underside of the cap. I filled up and it was worse than ever.Took it to a Kia dealership and they said there were two air filters in there.Apparently, according to them, the car was probably assembled in California. Bought fuel cleaner to get any water out of tank and that solved it until last week. Next week I filled up and it would barely run. Filled up at a gas station in October and the car kept stalling out or choking down. I am having the same problem with my 2007 Kia Spectra. Does anyone have any experience using that angle with kia to get them to cover this problem? He wants to persue this under that information, says that they should have the warning.

My dad said that there is no warning in the manual or on the gas tank anywhere that says that overfilling will cause any damage. $1200 to replace the tank at the dealer because it is not an item that is under warranty. He took it to the kia dealer and they said that because he overfills the tank it will now need to be replaced. The last time he filled it, it stalled out on him 3 times on his way home. Does anyone have any experience using that angle with kia to get them to cover this problem? My dad has 2007 kia spectra he has been not overfiling but putting an even $ amount in his car so no more than $.99 extra.
